About FinCal Hub
FinCal Hub is an independent financial-tools website for India. We build calculators that show the actual maths — in-hand salary, tax-regime choice, SIP wealth, home-loan decisions, and government savings schemes — using current Indian rules, with every assumption stated on the page.
We are not a bank, broker, mutual fund distributor, insurance seller, or tax advisory firm. We do not sell financial products, and we do not receive commissions for recommending any scheme or fund. Our revenue, if and when the site is approved for advertising, comes from standard display ads — never from pushing a product on you.
What we believe
- Show your working. A number without the formula behind it is not useful. Every calculator explains its inputs, formula and limitations.
- Privacy by design. Calculations run in your browser. We do not ask for your name, phone, email or PAN to use a tool, and we do not store what you type.
- Rules change — say so. Tax slabs and small-savings rates change every year. We label the financial year on every tax or scheme calculator and update when rates change.
- Estimates, not advice. Our outputs are educational estimates. Personalised decisions should involve a qualified financial planner or chartered accountant.
Our Team
FinCal Hub Editorial Team is a small group of financial writers, researchers, and former banking professionals focused exclusively on Indian personal finance, taxation, and government savings schemes. Our work is guided by the principle that financial tools and explanations should be accurate, jargon-free, and freely accessible to every Indian — regardless of income level or financial literacy.
Our editorial process combines primary research of official government notifications, cross-verification against multiple authoritative sources, and plain-language rewriting to ensure complex financial concepts are understandable without being oversimplified. Every article and calculator is reviewed by at least two team members before publication.
Important disclosure: FinCal Hub is not a SEBI-registered investment adviser (RIA), and our team members do not hold themselves out as chartered accountants, certified financial planners, or licensed tax practitioners in their capacity as contributors to this site. Our content is for educational and informational purposes only. For personalised decisions about your specific situation, please consult a qualified CA, CFA, or SEBI-registered investment adviser.
Review & Fact-Checking Process
Every calculator on FinCal Hub undergoes a structured verification process before publication and is reviewed annually (or whenever rules change mid-year):
- Primary source verification. Each formula is cross-checked against the relevant official notification or circular. Tax calculators reference CBDT notifications and Finance Acts. Retirement and pension calculators reference EPFO, PFRDA, and Department of Pension & Pensioners' Welfare rules. Post Office scheme calculators reference Department of Posts notifications. Loan and interest calculators reference RBI guidelines and standard banking practice.
- Benchmark testing. Calculator outputs are tested against known worked examples from official sources, comparable tools from reputable banks and financial institutions, and independent manual calculations.
- Limitation disclosure. Where a calculator relies on simplifying assumptions (constant returns, no fees, standard assumptions), these are clearly stated in the assumptions section of each tool.
- Annual review cycle. All tax and scheme calculators are scheduled for review following the Union Budget each February and any mid-year notifications from the Ministry of Finance, RBI, or relevant authority.
- Reader corrections. We maintain an open corrections channel at fincalhub.contact@gmail.com. Readers who spot an error or outdated rule are encouraged to write in; factual corrections are prioritised and acknowledged.
Our commitment is to be transparent about what we know, what we assume, and what we do not know. If a rule is ambiguous or subject to differing interpretations, we say so rather than presenting a single definitive answer.
